[Account Admin](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/survey?hsLang=en#account-admin) # Add and manage section and question After creating a survey, authors can [add sections and questions](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/add-and-manage-section-and-question#add-section-question) and [manage](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/add-and-manage-section-and-question#manage) them if required. **📒Note:** You can share surveys only after adding a question. ### **Add section and question** After creating a survey, you are directed to the survey edit page, where you can add multiple sections to it and multiple questions to each section. You can also add them by performing the following actions: Navigate to **Survey** on the left pane. 1. Based on your requirements, you can - Add multiple sections and multiple questions in each section. - Choose single and multiple selections in the multiple-choice question type. - Type the choices or choose scale type in the multiple choice and matrix question types. - Edit, delete, and rearrange the choices. - Randomize the choices between the respondents. - Enable a follow-up text question. - Make the question mandatory. - Set the maximum character limit for the text question type. - Add rows and columns and randomize rows in the matrix question type. Click **+ADD SECTION** to add another section. ### **Manage section and question** After [adding sections and questions](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/add-and-manage-section-and-question#add-section-question) to a survey, you can manage them. In each section, perform the following action as required: - Click the **Overflow ![Overflow Menu-Nov-20-2023-05-10-31-0841-AM](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Overflow%20Menu-Nov-20-2023-05-10-31-0841-AM.png?width=20&height=20&name=Overflow%20Menu-Nov-20-2023-05-10-31-0841-AM.png) Menu** and select **Reorder Sections**. - Click the **Edit ![edit grey-3](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/edit%20grey-3.png?width=20&height=20&name=edit%20grey-3.png) Icon** to edit the section. **📒Notes:** - You can view the overflow menu at the top right of a section only after adding another section. This means you cannot delete or reorder a section unless you add another section. - After sharing a survey, you cannot change the question type and delete the section. ![Add and manage sections and questions3-2](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Add%20and%20manage%20sections%20and%20questions3-2.png?width=688&height=343&name=Add%20and%20manage%20sections%20and%20questions3-2.png) - Hover over each question and click the **Edit ![edit grey-3](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/edit%20grey-3.png?width=20&height=20&name=edit%20grey-3.png)**, **Copy ![copy-1](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/copy-1.png?width=20&height=20&name=copy-1.png)**, **Delete ![Delete Grey](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Delete%20Grey.png?width=20&height=20&name=Delete%20Grey.png)**, or **Six Dot ![Six dot icon-1](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Six%20dot%20icon-1.png?width=20&height=20&name=Six%20dot%20icon-1.png)**icons as required. **📒Note:** After sharing a survey, you can edit the options in a question, add new ones, or hide them. If respondents have already submitted their responses and you edit the assignment, their responses will not generate for the edited questions. You must remove respondents and add them to make the updated assignment available to them.
