# Add and manage group

Account admins can [add groups](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/add-and-manage-group#add-group) to each app profile and can also [pick groups](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/add-and-manage-group#pick-group) from other app profiles across the organization. Adding a group is a prerequisite for adding employees to it. It is necessary to organize employees, allowing for easier management of permissions and access within the app.

After adding a group, you can [manage](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/add-and-manage-group#manage-group) it if required.

**📒Note:** App profile admins can add and manage groups in the app profiles to which they have admin access.

### **Add group**

Navigate to **Settings** on the left pane.

1. On the left pane, select an app profile in the *App Profiles* field and then select **User/Groups**.
2. Click **Add** at the top right and select **Add Group**.

  3.   Type a title for the group.

  4.   Click the drop-down and type the employee's name to give them access to the group.

  5.   Click the drop-down, type the group's name to give access to its members, and click **Add**.

The group is successfully created.

### **Manage group**

After adding a group, you can manage it as required.

1. On the left pane, select an app profile from the *App Profiles* field.
2. Select **User/Groups**.
3. Select a group and click the **Overflow ![Overflow Menu-Oct-11-2023-07-43-45-1628-AM](https://help.theemployeeapp.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Overflow%20Menu-Oct-11-2023-07-43-45-1628-AM.png?width=20&height=20&name=Overflow%20Menu-Oct-11-2023-07-43-45-1628-AM.png) Menu** on the right.
4. Select the option as required.

- - **View:** Displays group details such as creation date, creator, details of registered and unregistered members, and associated app profiles.
    - **Edit:** Edit the group name, and manage permissions for employees and other groups.
    - **Delete:** Remove the group from the app profile.

📒**Note:** Deleting a group removes employees only from that group. If they belong to other groups, they remain members of those groups.

- - **Add User:** Enter a unique employee identifier to add an individual.
    - **Upload CSV:** Upload a CSV file to add employees in bulk to the group.

### **Pick group**

You can pick a group from other app profiles.

1. On the left pane, select an app profile from the *App Profiles* field.
2. Select **User/Groups**.
3. Click **Add** at the top right and select **Pick Group**.
4. Select the desired groups and click **Add**.

**📒Note:** All employees from the picked group, including registered and unregistered employees are added to this app profile.
